Pakistani actors Hiba Bukhari and Arez Ahmed recently addressed the criticism Bukhari faced during her pregnancy and expressed their disappointment over the premature disclosure of their personal news. Now proud parents to a daughter named Aynur, the couple reflected on societal pressures placed on pregnant women during an appearance on Nida Yasir’s Ramazan show.
Bukhari faced social media trolling when she attended the 9th HUM Awards in London, showcasing her baby bump in a shimmery green gown. Responding to the criticism, Ahmed questioned societal expectations, asking if pregnant women should stay confined to their homes. He emphasized that working during pregnancy is commendable and should be appreciated. Bukhari, who worked on dramas “Radd” and “Jaan Nisar” until her eighth month, stated that she had no regrets about working or traveling during her pregnancy.
The couple also addressed the premature announcement of their pregnancy by TV host Nadia Khan, who revealed the news on her show without their consent. Ahmed expressed disappointment over the lack of respect for their privacy, highlighting that such personal information should be disclosed by the individuals themselves when they feel ready.
In light of the criticism, actress Mira Sethi voiced her support for Bukhari, praising her for continuing to work and shine during her pregnancy.
This incident sheds light on the societal pressures and scrutiny faced by women during pregnancy, emphasizing the need for respect and support for their choices.
