An international drug trafficking ring was busted in Lahore’s DHA, resulting in the arrest of 14 people

The Organised Crime Unit (OCU) of Lahore police has dismantled an international gang, including four members from the same family, accused of supplying narcotics and party drugs to affluent youth.

Known as the ‘Jordan Gang,’ the group operated across Central Asia, Mexico, Canada, the USA, and other countries, allegedly providing high-end drugs to Lahore and Multan. Reports suggest that these drugs were also distributed among select university students and other educational institutions.

OCU DIG Imran Kishwar stated that after two months of extensive intelligence gathering and undercover operations, the unit managed to apprehend the gang. The elusive leader, Ayub Khan alias Jordan, operated covertly, and his true identity was unknown to many.

Led by SP Furqan Bilal, a special OCU team uncovered the drug traffickers’ network, eventually leading to the arrest of key gang members, including Muhammad Ali, Uzair, Muhammad Nadeem, Samina Iftikhar, and Fatima Zahra. However, Ayub Jordan remains at large, believed to be operating from Thailand.

The gang used fake IDs on social media to target students and citizens for drug deals. They also operated several bank accounts, primarily under the name of a woman suspect, Samina Iftikhar, and her son Uzair, to launder money. Ayub alias Jordan and Muhammad Ali are her other sons. DIG Kishwar revealed that some police and General Post Office (GPO) officials were part of the gang’s marketing and supply networks.

Investigations unveiled that the gang had purchased three villas in DHA with money from drug trafficking, allegedly using them for storing and distributing drugs in various cities. During the raid, a significant quantity of expensive drugs was seized, including weed, Vapes, cannabis, ice, cocaine, packing materials, CBD vapes, cannabis chocolates, and other drug paraphernalia.

The OCU also briefed Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz about the racket following the breakthrough. DIG Kishwar highlighted that the gang’s arrest, including nine armed guards, showcased their violent tendencies and organized structure.

The drug traffickers used a sophisticated approach, blending international and domestic channels for procurement and distribution. Internationally, illicit substances were smuggled through reputable courier services with the complicity of corrupt officials, while domestically, online platforms and covert groups were utilized for circulation within the country.

A comprehensive investigation is ongoing to trace the supply chain to lower-level distributors and end-users, aiming to uncover deeper connections and activities of the cartel.
