American participation in Pakistan-India is “none of our business” says JD Vance

Declaring it “fundamentally none of our business,” vice-president JD Vance has vowed the United States will not military intervene in the continuing situation between Pakistan and India.

Speaking with Fox News during a recent escalation between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, Vance stated that although the US is pushing both sides to de-escalate, it has the power or obligation to compel any nation to stop military activity.

“We are not going to get involved in the middle of a war unrelated to American control,” he declared.

The comment follows Indian armed troops attacking several sites in Punjab and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, including Sialkot, Shakargarh, Muridke, Bahawalpur, Kotli, and Muzaffarabad, unleashing synchronized missile, air, and drone strikes during the night of May 6–7.

The Pakistani military claims that the strikes claimed at least 31 civilian casualties—including women and children—as well as injured 71 others. Additionally severely damaged was civilian infrastructure like a hydropower plant and mosques.

The Pakistan Army responded with a retaliation attack downing one combat drone and five Indian fighter planes.

The military spokesman verified that among the aircraft were three Rafale planes, one MiG-29, one SU-series aircraft, and one Israeli-made Heron drone. He said, these were shot down over Bhatinda, Jammu, Akhnoor, Srinagar, and Avantipur.

Following the strikes, Pakistan’s National Security Committee (NSC) approved the armed forces of the nation to engage matching military operations in reaction to what officials referred to as “unprovoked aggression” and purposeful targeting of citizens.

On Thursday, the Pakistan army also intercepted and destroyed thirty Herop drones manufactured by Israel, dispatched from India to strike civilian and military sites.

Rawalpindi, Gujrat, Attock, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana, Ghotki and Karachi’s Malir area were among the several towns where the fallen drones were found, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
