Alastair Cook joins PSL 10 commentary team

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled an impressive lineup of commentators for the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Among the highlights is the debut of former England Test captain Alastair Cook in the commentary box.

Set to kick off on April 11 in Rawalpindi, the six-team tournament will feature a total of 34 matches hosted across Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi. The grand finale is scheduled for May 18 at Lahore’s Qaddafi Stadium.

Joining Cook on this star-studded panel are notable cricket voices like Mark Nicholas, Dominic Cork, and Mark Butcher, all from England. South Africa’s JP Duminy and Mike Haysman, Bangladesh’s Athar Ali Khan, and New Zealand’s Martin Guptill will also contribute their expertise. Representing Australia, Lisa Sthalekar, a two-time ICC Women’s World Cup winner, adds a fresh perspective.

The Pakistani contingent includes cricket legends Aamir Sohail, Ramiz Raja, Waqar Younis, and Wasim Akram. They will be joined by Bazid Khan, Urooj Mumtaz, and Sikander Bakht. Adding a significant element of inclusivity, the PSL 10 will, for the first time, feature full-match Urdu commentary, making the sport more accessible to local fans. Urdu commentators include Marina Iqbal, Ali Younis, and Tariq Saeed, among others.

Presenting the matches will be internationally recognized anchors Erin Holland and Zainab Abbas. PSL CEO Salman Naseer emphasized that the diverse commentary panel reflects the global stature of the tournament. He also highlighted the introduction of Urdu commentary as a step forward in connecting with Pakistan’s cricket fanbase.

The PCB expects this year’s league to enhance the viewing experience for both domestic and international audiences, offering fans a mix of innovation and expertise.
