Sindh government forms task force to enhance seven major Karachi roads

The Sindh government has established a 10-member task force aimed at the uplift and beautification of seven key thoroughfares in Karachi. Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab will chair the task force, which includes officials from various departments such as the Karachi commissioner, city police chief, and representatives from the Sindh Building Control Authority and Sindh Solid Waste Management Board.

The targeted roads for this initiative are:

  1. Sharea Faisal
  2. Shahrah-i-Quaideen
  3. Sher Shah Suri Road
  4. Shaheed-i-Millat Road
  5. Habib Ibrahim Rahimtoola (Karsaz) Road
  6. Abdullah Haroon Road to Shahrah-i-Firdousi (up to Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine)
  7. I.I. Chundrigar Road

The task force’s responsibilities encompass supervising and coordinating activities related to beautification, cleanliness, garbage removal, addressing encroachments, managing illegal parking, resolving sewerage issues, and overseeing infrastructure development on these roads. The initiative aims to enhance Karachi’s infrastructure, ensure cleaner public spaces, and improve the city’s overall aesthetic appeal.

Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah emphasized the importance of this project, stating that improving Karachi’s beauty, resolving traffic issues, and eliminating encroachments are top priorities for the Sindh government. He instructed the task force to commence work immediately and deliver significant results to provide prompt relief to the citizens.

This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to addressing Karachi’s civic challenges through coordinated efforts and efficient governance.
