Pakistan’s military chief, General Syed Asim Munir, met with General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, the commander of Bahrain’s National Guard, in Rawalpindi to strengthen military ties and address regional security concerns. General Al Khalifa commended the Pakistani Army’s professionalism and their contributions to counterterrorism. Both leaders underscored the importance of collaboration in maintaining regional stability and tackling emerging threats.
Bahrain, a key member of the Gulf Cooperation Council, has historically shared close ties with Pakistan. The two nations engage in regular military exercises, contributing to stronger defense relations. Bahrain remains a significant destination for Pakistani workers, with trade between the countries estimated at $500 million to $1 billion in recent years.
