Renowned Punjabi singer Naseebo Lal has decided to retract her legal complaint against her husband, Naveed Hussain, following allegations of domestic abuse. Earlier, Lal filed an FIR at the Shahdara Town Police Station accusing Hussain of verbally abusing her and striking her face with a brick, causing injuries.
The complaint was registered under Section 354 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which deals with assaulting a woman with intent to outrage her modesty. She initially demanded legal action, stating that Hussain had repeatedly argued with and mistreated her.
However, shortly afterward, Lal informed the police that the issue had been resolved privately between the two. She further added that she no longer intended to pursue the matter in court.
The case highlights the challenges many women face while navigating domestic abuse-related legal battles, often influenced by social or personal pressures.
