FIA probes Nadia Hussain over allegations against officials

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has begun an inquiry against model and actor Nadia Hussain under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (Peca). The FIA claimed Hussain made baseless accusations against its officials following her husband’s arrest for alleged financial misconduct.

Hussain’s husband, Atif Muhammad Khan, was detained by the FIA on March 8 on charges of embezzling Rs540 million during his tenure as CEO of Al-Falah Securities. While in custody, Hussain uploaded Instagram videos alleging that a man, claiming to be a FIA director, demanded Rs 30 million in bribes for her husband’s bail. She later reported that the man was an impersonator.

The FIA confirmed the existence of the impersonator but stated that Hussain violated the law by publicly accusing its officials without filing a formal complaint. Her mobile phone was seized during a raid on her home in Karachi as part of the ongoing investigation. Hussain has yet to comment publicly on the probe.
