On March 9, 2025, UAE Consul General Bakheet Ateeq Al Remeithi hosted an iftar dinner in Karachi to honor Pakistan’s Special Olympics athletes.
The event aimed to boost the morale of these athletes as they prepared for the World Winter Games Turin 2025, scheduled from March 8–15, featuring over 1,500 athletes from more than 100 countries. Al Remeithi emphasized that, despite any challenges, these athletes are as capable as others and highlighted the importance of instilling confidence in them.
He also noted that the Arab culture during Ramadan strengthens the bonds between Pakistan and the UAE. The athletes expressed gratitude for the consul general’s hospitality.
