Karachi is set to experience a spike in temperatures over the weekend, with the mercury expected to rise up to 38°C. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the warm conditions will persist on Saturday and Sunday, with humidity levels fluctuating between 15% and 25%.
Despite the soaring temperatures, experts clarify that this does not qualify as an official heatwave. Typically, a heatwave occurs when temperatures exceed 40°C, coupled with high humidity and a lack of sea breezes—factors that are not expected during this spell.
Residents are advised to take precautions by staying hydrated and avoiding prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. While the heat will be noticeable, it is not expected to reach dangerous levels.
