Hira Mani credits Sridevi for her love of sarees

In a recent interview with Faridoon Shahryar, Pakistani actor Hira Mani expressed her admiration for the late Bollywood icon Sridevi, attributing her own fondness for sarees to the legendary actress. Hira reminisced about her childhood, recalling how her mother would play songs from films like Chandni while tidying up, which influenced her appreciation for sarees. She remarked, “If Sridevi had never worn sarees, I wouldn’t have either.”

Discussing her recent Instagram post where she donned a saree amidst the snowy backdrop of Pittsburgh, Hira revealed it was her friend’s idea to fulfill her wish of wearing a saree in such a setting.

Beyond fashion, Hira lauded Sridevi’s exceptional comedic timing, drawing parallels to Pakistani actress Shehnaz Sheikh’s subtle humor. Reflecting on her own career, Hira noted that while she began with comedic roles, her transition to serious characters marked a turning point, allowing her to embrace challenges contrasting her off-screen jovial nature.

She also shared that her family saw resemblances between her personality and Kareena Kapoor’s character, Geet, from Jab We Met, highlighting her natural exuberance. Hira emphasized the importance of authenticity, stating she prefers showcasing her true self rather than adhering to conventional interview norms.
