Veteran Pakistani actor Behroze Sabzwari recently shared his thoughts on rising divorce rates during an appearance on a morning show hosted by Madeha Naqvi. Joined by his wife, Safeena Sheikh, the conversation turned towards the causes of marital breakdowns in modern times.

He highlighted that some families spend extravagant amounts on weddings and pamper their daughters excessively, fostering a “queen-like” attitude. “When these girls enter marriage, they expect to be in control. But no matter how modern, the husband remains his parents’ son,” he remarked, suggesting this dynamic often leads to conflicts.
Behroze also criticized the prevalence of grand weddings, advocating for simpler Nikah ceremonies to ease burdens on families. Adding to the discussion, he attributed many failed marriages to superficial love, which fades as reality sets in after the honeymoon phase.
