One of two survivors of the 2020 PIA jet accident in Karachi, banker Zafar Masud wrote Seat 1C: A Survivor’s Tale of Hope, Resilience of Renewal about his experiences.
The Lahore Literary Festival launched the book, written with Syeda Amna Hasan, on Saturday.
Masud said, “I thought these are such unique learnings that, God forbid, no one should ever have to confront or face them.”
I wanted to convey my post-crash experiences—what it’s like to be so close to death, how your life changes, and what your priorities should be.”
Masud was asked how to live a regret-free life, especially for believers. He added that because everyone’s priorities are different, there is no single answer.
He stressed the need of prioritising community-beneficial activities over personal goals to avoid sacrificing others’ enjoyment, success, or wellbeing.
