PTI plans sit-in outside Adiala jail over Imran Khan’s detention

The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) plans a peaceful sit-in near Adiala Jail to protest Imran Khan’s alleged solitary confinement. Khan was tortured mentally and refused family access, according to the party.

It was made at a PTI Punjab meeting hosted by Chief Organiser Aliya Hamza Malik and attended by Hammad Azhar and Shaukat Basra. The party aims to rotate MPs and ticket-holders in the sit-in to sustain the protest.

PTI has also asked the Lahore High Court for permission to host a public gathering at Minar-i-Pakistan on March 22 to commemorate March 23. The court date is February 24.

Hammad Azhar accused the military of hurting governmental institutions, politics, and the economy. Aliya Hamza Malik criticised police raids on PTI workers for mistreating women and violating privacy. Party members will demonstrate until Imran Khan and detainees are liberated.

Meanwhile, PTI has petitioned authorities to enable their protest and allege harassment against party members. The party’s leadership demanded justice and the release of their leader, claiming their activities were peaceful and constitutional.
