The Islamabad High Court (IHC) summoned the Adiala Jail superintendent on Wednesday for contempt for failing to organize a meeting between former Prime Minister Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi despite court instructions.
Faisal Chaudhry represented the PTI founder in his plea to Acting Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar. Chaudhry claimed the jail authorities disobeyed the court, prohibiting the couple from meeting.
“The jail superintendent assured on January 28 that he would follow the court’s order, yet the meeting did not take place,” he said.
Judge ordered state counsel to schedule the meeting and delayed the hearing to February 27.
On February 8, Imran Khan filed a contempt petition against the jail superintendent for violating the court’s order.
