Palestine at the core of Mideast conflict China urges two-state solution.

According to China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi, the two-state solution is the essential answer to the Middle East problem.

According to a statement from the Beijing Foreign Ministry, Wang made these comments when meeting with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar on Saturday on the fringes of the Munich Security Conference in Germany.

“It is imperative that the humanitarian crisis in Gaza be resolved as quickly as possible,” Wang informed his Israeli colleague.

Wang stated that the two-state solution may resolve the “Middle East issue” by allowing “peaceful coexistence” between Israel and Palestine, which will in turn promote “friendly exchanges” between Arabs and Jews. He pointed out that the Palestinian issue is at the “core of the Middle East issue.”

He declared that Beijing will play a “constructive role” in locating a “comprehensive and lasting resolution to the Palestinian issue” and that it is “committed to upholding justice.”

Regarding bilateral relations with Tel Aviv, Wang stated that Beijing is prepared to “work with Israel to further advance the China-Israel innovative comprehensive partnership” and views the evolution of its relations with Israel from a “long-term perspective.”

Since January 19, Israel’s genocidal war in Gaza has been halted by a ceasefire deal, leaving the enclave in ruins and killing over 48,200 Palestinians, the majority of whom were women and children.

In November, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant were the targets of arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.He declared that Beijing will play a “constructive role” in locating a “comprehensive and lasting resolution to the Palestinian issue” and that it is “committed to upholding justice.”
