Wave of Unrest in Afghanistan, Fears of Possible Public Backlash Against Taliban

Kabul (Monitoring Desk): Public anxiety is rapidly increasing across Afghanistan due to rising inflation, unemployment, and ongoing political uncertainty, sparking fears of a potential public backlash against the Taliban government.

According to Afghan media, former Afghan minister Anwar-ul-Haq Ahadi has warned that repressive governance, worsening economic conditions, and neglect of basic public issues are further intensifying instability in the country.

Ahadi stated that the public is facing severe economic pressure and expects clear measures from the Taliban government to address the economic crisis and employment challenges. However, he noted that the government’s primary focus appears to be centered on consolidating its grip on power rather than resolving the public’s growing hardships.
