Washington (Monitoring Desk) U.S. President Donald Trump’s plane was forced to return to the airbase shortly after departing for Switzerland on Tuesday night due to a minor electrical malfunction. According to the White House, the decision was purely a precautionary measure.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leut said that Air Force One returned to Joint Base Andrews after a short flight instead of continuing the long journey, landing safely at approximately 0400 GMT.
Journalists accompanying the President reported that a few moments after takeoff, the cabin lights went out. However, no danger occurred, and the plane landed safely back at the base.
