Trump Threatens Military Action Against Colombia, Cuba

Washington (Monitoring Desk): Following the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, U.S. President Donald Trump issued strong statements targeting other Latin American countries.

Speaking to journalists aboard Air Force One, Trump warned Colombian President Gustavo Petro that a U.S. military operation in Colombia “could be a good idea.” He described the situation in Colombia as deteriorating, accusing the country of ongoing drug production and smuggling, which he said could no longer be tolerated. When asked about potential U.S. action, Trump stated that such a move would be acceptable to him.

Trump also used stern words regarding Cuba, claiming that the Cuban government is weak and appears close to collapse.
