Washington (Monitoring Desk): US President Donald Trump announced that member countries of the Board of Peace have pledged to provide thousands of personnel for the International Stabilization Force to be deployed in Gaza.
Trump stated on his social media platform Truth Social that a formal announcement will be made on February 19 at a Board of Peace meeting in Washington, hosted by the Trump Peace Institute of Peace. He added that member countries have also committed over $5 billion in funds for humanitarian aid and reconstruction, while thousands of personnel will be deployed alongside local police to maintain security and peace.
Trump emphasized that Hamas must remain fully and immediately disarmed, and he described the Board of Peace as poised to become the most significant international organization in history. According to a Foreign Office spokesperson, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will also participate in the upcoming meeting. The deployment follows approval for the international stabilization force in Gaza under a United Nations Security Council resolution after the ceasefire.
