In a social media message, he added that the goal of World Cup 2026 was to make it the most accessible event ever, and the 500 million viewers in India raise expectations that this number will grow even further during the semi-finals and final.
Jay Shah also highlighted the unprecedented digital viewership, noting that 60.5 million viewers watched live matches simultaneously on digital streaming platforms, setting a new record.
