Dhaka (Sports Desk): The three-match One Day International (ODI) series between Pakistan and Bangladesh begins today at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka. The first match will start at 1:15 PM Pakistan Standard Time.
In the previous home series, Bangladesh had whitewashed Pakistan. However, over the past two years, the Green Shirts have won five ODI series against various teams, while Bangladesh has managed to win only two series during this period. Under Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s captaincy, the bowling average has been 43.92, while as a regular player his bowling average is 35.66.
In this series, three Pakistani players will play their first-ever ODI: Sahibzada Farhan, Moaz Siddiqui, and Shaamil Hussain. Notably, Sahibzada Farhan was also a top scorer in the T20 World Cup.
The second and third matches of the series are scheduled for March 13 and March 15, respectively. In the previous series at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium, West Indies and Bangladesh played 84% of overs using spin bowlers, with one match seeing West Indies bowl all 50 overs with spinners.
