Shahid Afridi Criticizes Shaheen Afridi’s Bowling

Lahore (Sports Desk): Former Shahid Afridi, ex-captain of the national team, has strongly criticized the bowling style of his son-in-law and fast bowler Shaheen Afridi.

Commenting on Shaheen’s performance in the T20 World Cup, Afridi said that despite playing for so many years, Shaheen still does not know how to finish the final over.

In a private TV program, the former captain stated that despite repeatedly pointing out mistakes, Shaheen continues to make the same errors, particularly with round-the-wicket deliveries against right-handers or missteps inside the crease.

Afridi added that the player neither learns nor seems willing to learn, nor takes responsibility for stopping runs during a match. He further remarked that the team’s strategic thinking lags behind world cricket and several key principles are still not understood.

According to the former captain, it is not enough to rely on one or two players; every bowler and fielder has the responsibility to make correct decisions during the game.
