Washington (Monitoring Desk): U.S. President Donald Trump, speaking at a roundtable conference, strongly defended recent actions against Iran, claiming that if the U.S. had not acted, Iran would have been capable of producing nuclear weapons within two weeks.
Trump stated that after assuming office, he focused on strengthening the U.S. military, and he takes pride in their performance today. He said the operation against Iran demonstrated the use of overwhelming force, destroying Iranian missiles and launchers.
The former president also criticized Barack Obama, claiming that Obama had struck the worst nuclear deal with Iran, which Trump terminated four years ago.
President Trump further asserted that the recent attacks have significantly set back Iran’s nuclear program, leaving the U.S. in a stronger and more stable position in the region.
