Islamabad (Sports Desk): The Pakistan National Hockey Team, led by Imad Butt, has arrived in Egypt to participate in the Hockey World Cup Qualifiers. The team traveled via Riyadh and Cairo, where Pakistani Ambassador Dr. Talha warmly welcomed the players at Cairo Airport with bouquets.
Pakistan is placed in Group B alongside Malaysia, China, and Austria. Their first match is on March 1 against China, the second on March 2 versus Malaysia, and the third on March 4 against Austria. Group A features England, Japan, Egypt, and USA, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semifinals.
Head Coach Khawaja Junaid stated that all players are ready to give their best performance. He emphasized that in modern hockey no team can be underestimated, every match is crucial, and the first goal is to reach the semifinals, after which the team will strive to win the title.
