Out of PSL, Ahmed Shehzad Breaks Down on Live Show Over Son

Lahore (Sports Desk): Former Pakistani opening batsman Ahmed Shehzad became emotional on a private TV live show after not being selected for the 11th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

During the program, host Tabish Hashmi asked Shehzad how he felt about being out of the league for the past three years despite having been part of a winning PSL team.

Shehzad replied, “I feel very sad for myself. I’m happy for my teammates, but I get disappointed for myself.” He became visibly emotional and added, “The hardest part is that my son is now 9 years old, and he wants to see me play.”

Seeing his emotional state, host Tabish Hashmi immediately went to comfort him with a hug.

Through tears, Ahmed Shehzad said, “My son sleeps beside me. He says, ‘Baba, I remember you used to play, but now I will be able to remember you properly.’” He acknowledged that while he is grateful and happy, the feeling deeply touched his heart and caused him immense sadness.
