Islamabad (Sports Desk): Pakistan’s national hockey team has returned home from Australia after participating in the Pro Hockey League, but no representative of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) was present at the airport to receive the players.
Speaking to the media at Lahore Airport, national team captain Imad Shakeel Butt announced a revolt against the current team management on behalf of the players. He stated that the team would not play the World Cup qualifying round under the existing management.
The captain said that during the Australia tour, the team was not provided with proper facilities. According to him, the players were neither given quality hotel accommodation nor adequate food arrangements. He claimed that the players had to cook their own meals and wash their own clothes during the tour.
He questioned how better performance could be expected from the team under such circumstances.
