Jerusalem (Monitoring Desk) – Several Muslim countries have strongly condemned Israel’s ban on the entry of a priest into the sacred church for Sunday Mass in occupied Jerusalem, rejecting the move outright.
According to media reports, the foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Turkey, Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar criticized restrictions on Christians’ freedom of worship in Jerusalem and on Muslims’ access to the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The ministers condemned any Israeli attempts to alter the status of Christians in legally and historically recognized sites, calling such actions a violation of international law, including human rights and the right of access to places of worship. They emphasized respecting the current legal and historical status of Jerusalem and its Muslim and Christian holy sites and urged Israel, as the occupying power, to stop measures that obstruct access to these religious places.
