Gaza (Monitoring Desk) For the first time since the October ceasefire, Israeli forces have issued evacuation orders to Palestinian families in southern Gaza, asking them to leave their homes and tent settlements. The orders were specifically issued for the eastern Bani Suhaila area of Khan Yunis, home to dozens of families.
According to Reuters, on Monday, pamphlets were dropped by the Israeli army over tents and partially destroyed homes in the Al-Raqeeb neighborhood. The pamphlets, written in Arabic, Hebrew, and English, stated that the area is under Israeli military control and that immediate evacuation is required.
Local residents and a Hamas source said this is the first instance of such evacuation orders since the ceasefire. Prior to the conflict, the Israeli army used to distribute similar pamphlets in areas before conducting operations or bombings, forcing families to repeatedly relocate.
Experts warn that the evacuation orders could worsen the humanitarian situation for local families and stress the need for international attention from a humanitarian perspective.
