Israel Declares West Bank Lands as State Property

Tel Aviv (Monitoring Desk): The Israeli government has approved a plan declaring lands in the occupied West Bank as “state property.” Under this plan, if Palestinians are unable to prove ownership of their land, it will be registered under the state’s name, prompting strong reactions from Palestinian leadership and several countries in the region.

According to Israeli media, the proposal was presented by Bezalel Smotrich Palestinian Presidential Office condemned the move as a “serious provocation” and a clear violation of international law, equating it to de facto annexation. Palestinian leadership has called for immediate intervention by the United States and the UN Security Council, while Hamas also denounced the action, stating that Israel aims to legalize its occupation.
