Iran Questions Participation in FIFA World Cup After US Attack

Tehran (Sports Desk): Following the United States attack, Iran has expressed doubts about participating in this year’s FIFA World Cup, scheduled in USA, Mexico, and Canada in June and July.

The president of the Iranian Football Federation stated that participating in the tournament under the current circumstances is difficult. Iran’s first match is scheduled against New Zealand in Los Angeles.

FIFA officials said they are closely monitoring the situation, prioritizing a safe World Cup experience for both players and fans.

Iran is in Group G alongside Belgium, New Zealand, and Egypt. If Iran and the US finish second in their group, a potential match between them could take place on July 3 in Dallas.
