New Delhi (Sports Desk) – In the 18th group match of the global cricket tournament, India delivered a dominant performance to defeat Namibia by 93 runs.
Chasing a massive target of 209 runs, Namibia’s batting line-up failed to handle the pressure and the entire team was bowled out for 116 runs in 18.2 overs. Lohan StyenKamp top-scored with 29 runs, while Jan Frylinck made 22 before returning to the pavilion. Captain Gerhard Erasmus managed 18 runs, Jan Nicol added 13, and JJ Smit was dismissed without scoring.
For India, Varun Chakravarthy claimed three wickets. Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya picked up two wickets each, while Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah took one wicket apiece.
Earlier in the match played in New Delhi, Namibia won the toss and opted to field first. India posted an imposing total of 209 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Ishan Kishan scored 61 runs and Hardik Pandya contributed 52. Tilak Varma added 25, while captain Suryakumar Yadav scored 12 runs.
From Namibia’s side, Gerhard Erasmus took four wickets, while Ben Shikongo claimed one dismissal.
