India’s PSLV-C62 Rocket Fails, 16 Satellites Lost

New Delhi (Monitoring Desk): India’s space agency, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), faced another setback as its PSLV-C62 rocket failed during the third stage of launch, resulting in the loss of 16 satellites in space.

According to Indian media reports, the failure occurred due to a technical malfunction in the rocket’s third stage. India Today described the incident not just as a technical accident but as another indication of recurring weaknesses in India’s space program.

It is worth noting that PSLV-C61 also failed at the same stage on May 18, 2025, highlighting persistent technical issues.

Analysts warn that some of the technologies used in the PSLV rocket are linked to India’s Agni missile program, raising concerns about potential vulnerabilities in strategic missile systems during wartime scenarios.
