Ahmedabad (Sports Desk): During the T20 World Cup 2026 final, New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell was angered by the aggressive behavior of Indian player Arshdeep Singh on the field.
According to reports, in the 11th over, Daryl Mitchell attempted to play a delivery from Arshdeep Singh but failed to middle it properly, sending the ball straight into Arshdeep’s hands. Although Mitchell was inside the crease, Arshdeep, showing unwarranted aggression, threw the ball toward him, hitting him on the thigh.
The incident angered Mitchell, who confronted Arshdeep, creating tension during the final. Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav immediately apologized to Mitchell, and the umpire instructed Arshdeep Singh to apologize. Arshdeep then offered a polite handshake and apology, resolving the matter on the field.
