Sudan (Monitoring Desk): At least 114 people have been killed in western Sudan’s Darfur region over the past week due to attacks by the military and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
According to AFP, these casualties resulted from separate air and ground assaults in two different towns. Medical sources reported that during drone strikes in Al-Zarq, North Darfur, 51 people lost their lives. The attacks targeted markets and residential areas, severely affecting ordinary civilians.
Al-Zarq is currently under RSF control and houses the family of the organization’s leader, adding to the complexity of the ongoing violence.
