New Delhi (Monitoring Desk): Multiple international human rights reports have revealed a dangerous rise in violence, discrimination, and the use of state force against Muslims in India.
According to recent documentation by the India Persecution Tracker and the South Asia Justice Campaign, a growing pattern of anti-Muslim hate speech, violent activities by Hindutva groups, and certain actions by state institutions point to increasing intolerance across the country.
Human rights organizations stated that at least 50 Muslims were killed in 2025 in incidents involving extrajudicial actions and religion-based attacks. Of these, 23 were killed in assaults by Hindutva extremists, while 27 others died in various violent incidents.
The reports further noted that following anti-Muslim statements, more than 26 organized violent incidents were reported across 13 Indian states. The highest number of fatalities was recorded in Uttar Pradesh, where six Muslim killings were confirmed.
