Moscow (Monitoring Desk): Russian President Vladimir Putin has indicated that following the ongoing war in Iran and the resulting rise in global energy prices, Russia may consider stopping gas supplies to Europe.
In his statement, President Putin noted that the European Union is attempting to impose restrictions on Russian gas and LNG, creating a new situation in the energy sector. He added that if further sanctions are placed on Russian gas and oil, it would be more advantageous for Moscow to turn toward other global markets.
According to international media reports, as Europe reduces its reliance on Russian energy, Russia is rapidly increasing its exports to other Asian markets, including China. Experts warn that if Russia limits gas supplies to Europe, it could further destabilize the global energy market.
