Karachi (Showbiz Desk): Senior and renowned Pakistani actress Noshaba Bibi has revealed a deeply personal and significant chapter of her life, disclosing that she was married off at the young age of 12, and became a mother at just 14.
Popularly known as Jahan Sultana on Pakistan Television, Noshaba Bibi earned widespread recognition for portraying Pashtun characters in classic dramas. Her long and distinguished career spans decades, during which she worked not only with PTV but also with Pashto Radio, leaving a lasting mark on the entertainment industry.
Hailing from Swat, Noshaba Bibi was always seen on television with grace and dignity, often appearing with her head covered. Her polite demeanor, refined speech, and serious acting style made her extremely popular among viewers, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where she enjoys a strong fan following.
In a recent exclusive interview with a digital media channel, the actress spoke candidly about her early marriage. She shared that she never truly got the opportunity to focus on her education or fully plan her career because she was married at such a young age, around the same time she began working in television.
Recalling her childhood, Noshaba Bibi said she was still at an age when she played with dolls when she was suddenly told she was getting married. She remembered being given lipstick, which made her happy as it was her weakness, and in that moment she forgot everything else.
She added that she happily went through the wedding ceremonies among her friends, unaware at that age of what marriage truly meant. After the guests left, she even insisted to her sister-in-law that she be sent back home.
The actress further revealed that her husband was her cousin, with a 23-year age difference, and that the marriage was strongly insisted upon by her aunt. According to Noshaba Bibi, she became a mother at 14 and has three sons and one daughter. Despite her father being strict by nature, her husband always fully supported her acting career.
