Trade Deficit Widens as Exports Drop 25% in February

Islamabad (Commerce Desk): Pakistan’s trade deficit increased by 25% during the first eight months (July–February) of the 2025-26 fiscal year.

According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, exports in February 2026 fell to $227 million, down 8.7% compared to February 2025. In January 2026, exports had exceeded $300 million, while the monthly trade deficit in February rose by 8.4% to $298 million.

The bureau also reported a 25.6% month-on-month decline in exports for February 2026, signaling a concerning trend for the country’s export performance.
