Mumbai (Showbiz Desk): Priyanka Chopra revealed that there was a time when she faced limited opportunities in the Hindi film industry, which prompted her to turn to Hollywood to establish her identity.
In a recent podcast with an Indian influencer, Chopra said that working in the film industry is not easy, describing it as a system based on politics and connections, where success is often temporary. She added that before moving from Bollywood to Hollywood, she was seeking ways to protect herself mentally, emotionally, and physically.
Chopra entered Hollywood through her music career in 2012 and 2013 and achieved major success in 2015 with the American TV series Quantico. She said her two-year stint as a pop star was a breath of fresh air, working with artists like Pitbull and The Chainsmokers, which left a deep impression on her.
She explained that she had felt limited and directionless in Hindi films, whereas music provided her with new opportunities and creative freedom.
