Islamabad (Commerce Desk): Amid uncertainty in the fuel supply chain caused by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, Pakistan has requested Saudi Arabia to dispatch a very large crude carrier (VLCC) carrying 2 million barrels of crude oil from Oman’s port on March 23. Four Pakistani ships are scheduled to receive oil from this tanker.
Sources indicate that Saudi authorities have not yet confirmed whether the tanker will anchor at Oman’s port or deliver the oil directly to Pakistan’s maritime boundaries, leaving uncertainty in the fuel supply chain.
