Karan Johar and CarryMinati in Legal Dispute; Court Orders Video Removal

Mumbai (Showbiz Desk): A legal dispute between renowned Indian filmmaker Karan Johar and popular YouTuber Ajey Nagar, widely known as CarryMinati, has stirred significant attention across social media and the entertainment industry.

The controversy began when CarryMinati uploaded a parody video titled “Koffee with Jallan” on his YouTube channel, inspired by Karan Johar’s famous talk show “Koffee with Karan.” The video adopted a satirical tone addressing issues such as nepotism in Bollywood and other related topics.

Karan Johar contended that the video crossed the boundaries of humor and turned into a personal attack. In a petition filed before the court, he alleged that inappropriate language was used and that he was directly targeted by name, damaging his reputation.

On February 9, a Mumbai court issued interim orders during the preliminary hearing. Judge Bhosale observed that, prima facie, defamatory remarks and objectionable language appeared to have been used by Ajey Nagar and his channel manager, Deepak Char.

The court ordered the immediate removal of the video and directed the parties to refrain from publishing similar content in the future.
