Karachi (Showbiz Desk): Renowned Pakistani actress Kanwal Farooq has revealed that her parents had arranged her marriage, but she left home just one night before the wedding.
Speaking during a program on a private television channel, the actress said that in life people often do not end up in the profession they initially wish to pursue, as their thinking and priorities change over time.
Kanwal Farooq shared that she began her professional journey in the field of clothing design and later established her own boutique. After that, she became associated with the beauty industry and even opened a salon. However, after some time her interest shifted toward acting and modeling.
The actress further disclosed that she once ran away from her own wedding, and the story is completely true. According to her, her family had been insisting on her marriage for quite some time.
She said that for the happiness of her parents she did not refuse the proposal. She even did the wedding shopping and preparations continued, but the night before the wedding she quietly left home.
When the host asked whether wedding invitations had already been distributed and other arrangements completed by that time, Kanwal Farooq explained that her parents somewhat understood her nature and had their doubts. Therefore, they invited only a limited number of people and initially planned to hold just the Nikah ceremony.
Responding to another question about why she did not tell her parents the truth earlier, the actress replied with a smile that her parents seemed happy at that time, so she thought it would be better to let them remain happy for a while.
