Lahore (Showbiz Desk): Renowned actress Maya Ali has expressed concern over rising inflation and increasing petrol prices during the holy month of Ramadan, stating that such decisions are adding to the difficulties of people who are already struggling.
In her message shared through social media, Maya Ali appealed to both authorities and the public to pay attention to the conditions of daily wage earners and understand the challenges they face.
She said she understands that at times governments are compelled to make tough decisions due to economic or political circumstances, and if a country is facing a war-like situation, the problems can intensify further. However, she emphasized that people whose households run on daily earnings should not be ignored during such times.
According to the actress, many individuals rely only on a motorcycle and travel daily to reach their workplaces in order to provide for their families. She added that when fuel prices rise, those who earn their livelihood through daily labor are the ones most affected.
Maya Ali further stated that during the month of Ramadan, people expect some level of relief from the government, especially as many families are already under severe financial pressure due to inflation. She said that the salaries and daily incomes of many people are not sufficient to easily bear the burden of rising prices, while staying at home is not an option for most individuals because they must continue working to support their families.
