Government of Pakistan Opens New Pathways for Youth and Digital Economy Through AI Funding

Islamabad (Commerce Desk): The Government of Pakistan, along with the State Investment Finance Corporation (SIFC), is playing a key role in promoting the digital economy. Recently, the government announced $1 billion in AI funding to support innovation and growth.

Dr. Nadeem Javed, Vice-Chancellor of the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics, welcomed the federal government’s AI initiative, stating that it will establish a strong AI ecosystem by introducing AI curricula in schools across the country.

According to him, by 2030, the program will provide 1,000 fully funded scholarships for students and offer AI training to one million non-IT professionals.

Dr. Javed further explained that the AI fund will create opportunities for startups, small and medium enterprises, and micro-enterprises, especially for the youth.

These initiatives are expected to support the establishment of a digital economy in Pakistan and open new avenues for young people, enabling them to benefit from training and opportunities while contributing effectively to the national economy.
