CCP Approves Fauji Cement and Kot Addu Power to Acquire Attock Cement

Islamabad (Commerce Desk): Pakistan’s Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) has approved Fauji Cement Company and Kot Addu Power Company to acquire Attock Cement.

The approval was granted after reviewing their merger request, allowing both companies to jointly control Attock Cement. The acquisition will be completed under the Scheme of Compromise and Arrangement 2026, after which the two firms will hold controlling shares of Attock Cement.

Following a comprehensive competition review under the Competition Act 2010, the CCP confirmed that the combined market share post-merger will remain below the threshold for dominant position. Competition in the cement sector will continue due to the presence of other strong players.

The CCP stated that the merger will not harm market competition and the proposed acquisition is legally cleared. This move signals continued investment growth in Pakistan’s cement sector while ensuring fair competition remains protected.
