Atif Aslam’s Unique Voice Inspired a New Generation of Indian Singers

Mumbai (Showbiz Desk): Renowned Indian singer Palash Sen has said that the unique voice and singing style of Pakistani singer Atif Aslam has influenced an entire generation of male singers in India.

In a recent interview, the 60-year-old singer stated that many singers who emerged after Atif Aslam tried to adopt his style. According to him, if one looks closely, almost every singer has at some point attempted to sing in Atif Aslam’s distinctive style.

He added that Arijit Singh also tried to sing in Atif Aslam’s style earlier in his career, but later developed his own unique and independent singing approach. Sen explained that this often happens in the music industry—when a powerful and distinctive voice emerges, it changes the popular style of singing.

Palash Sen further noted that in the past, singers such as Kumar Sanu and Abhijeet Bhattacharya were clearly influenced by legendary vocalists Mohammed Rafi and Kishore Kumar. Influential singers often leave a deep mark through their music, inspiring many others to follow in their footsteps.

It is worth mentioning that Atif Aslam is considered one of Pakistan’s most successful singers, gaining immense popularity across South Asia, including India. He rose to fame in the early 2000s with the song “Aadat” performed with his band.

Later, he achieved further success with hit songs such as “Tera Hone Laga Hoon” and “Tu Jaane Na” from the film Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, “Pehli Nazar Mein” from Race, “Jeene Laga Hoon” from Ramaiya Vastavaiya, and “Dil Diyan Gallan” from Tiger Zinda Hai, all of which became hugely popular.
