In Lahore, anti-terrorism court (ATC) has extended the interim bail of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder until March 15 in three cases related to attacks on Jinnah House, Askari Tower, and the torching of Shadman police station on May 9, 2023.
Presiding over the proceedings, ATC Judge Muhammad Naveed Iqbal called for arguments from both parties on the next hearing date regarding the bail petitions of the PTI founder.
Last week, another ATC upheld the interim bail of the PTI founder in four cases, including an attack on police outside Zaman Park, the murder of PTI activist Zille Shah, the torching of a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz office in Model Town, and the burning of a container at Kalma Chowk.
Previously, on August 11, 2023, an ATC judge revoked the pre-arrest bails of the PTI founder in seven cases due to his non-appearance, following his imprisonment after being convicted in the Toshakhana case. However, the Lahore High Court overturned this decision, reinstating his bail petitions and granting relief to the PTI founder.
