Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has praised the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) and China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) for starting the construction of the C-5 Nuclear Power Plant in Chashma, Mianwali.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the project, describing it as a “milestone in strategic cooperation between Pakistan and China.” He noted that the C-5 Nuclear Power Plant, being the largest and most advanced of its kind in the country, highlights the strengthening partnership between the two nations.
The C-5 plant is projected to generate 1,200 megawatts of electricity, providing a significant boost to the national grid, meeting Pakistan’s energy demands, and supporting economic growth.
The project is a reflection of the shared vision of Pakistan and China to deepen their strategic ties through advancements in technology and energy.
