In a brief speech on Saturday, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif criticized Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), accusing the former prime minister of a long-standing pattern of insincerity.
Speaking at the death anniversary event of Khawaja Muhammad Rafiq in Lahore, Asif stated that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had always been in favor of dialogue, even initiating talks during the tenure of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).
He pointed out that PTI had recently shifted its stance, now expressing a willingness to engage in discussions.
Asif accused Khan of disloyalty, even to those who were once close to him, and of exploiting people rather than treating them as individuals.
He also criticized Khan for his appeal for support from the United States, noting that the shift from “absolutely not” to “absolutely yes” represented a complete reversal in the PTI leader’s position.
